Dog Develops Niche Taste, Now He Won't Go to Bed Without Unusual Snack

A social-media video that captures a dog's taste for carrot sticks has melted hearts across the internet.

The viral clip has been viewed more than 3 million times since it was first shared to TikTok on January 29. It shows the dog's refusal to go to bed until he has gotten a taste of his favorite snack, a piece of carrot.

Viewers were shown the dog waiting patiently in his kitchen for his owner to feed him a carrot stick. "It's 8PM and he knows it's time for his bedtime carrot," the dog's owner shared in the post. The pet is then seen savoring a bite of the treat before accepting his bed time. The post has been captioned: "Our favorite time of the day."

The American Kennel Club (AKC) says that carrots are safe for dogs to eat and make for a healthy treat too.

"Carrots are an excellent low-calorie snack that is high in fiber and beta-carotene, which produces vitamin A. Plus, crunching on this orange root vegetable is great for your dog's teeth. Carrots are included as an ingredient in many dog foods as well as plenty of carrot dog treats," the pet registry says on its website.

One TikTok user had commented that "carrots can be really good for dog's teeth."
