Dog's Bed Head After Nap Delights Internet: 'What Year Is It'

We all love a good nap in the afternoon, and so do our pets. A dog called Woody has delighted social-media users after his owner shared a now-viral video of him waking up from a nap.

In the heartwarming clip, shared on TikTok under the username @woody_the_englishcocker, the brown-and-white cocker spaniel can be seen waking up from his daytime nap with his hair all messy. He winks at the camera as he struggles to keep his eyes open.

The viral post comes with a caption that reads: "Did you just wake up from your nap?" It is followed by: "I think the bed head is a big giveaway."

It's no secret that dogs like sleeping just as much as we do, but how much sleep do they actually need throughout the day? The Sleep Foundation says that, while many puppies sleep less at night than adult dogs do, they sleep more hours during the day and nap for longer overall. The majority of puppies sleep in a crate or a kennel. When it comes to adult dogs, most of them need between eight and 13.5 hours of sleep every single day, making an average of just under 11 hours.

Moreover, adult dogs need more sleep than puppies do, and they usually sleep between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m., depending on their owner's schedule. However, daytime naps are still important for them. It's not unusual for adult dogs to sleep for up to 37 percent of the day.

One user, nadineschae, commented: "You can tell that it was a very good nap!" And Adi7 posted: "An actual footage of me waking up." Baggelis Gioldasis added: "We want hair care routine."

Missscoco wrote: "When my mum wakes [me] up from my afternoon nap to come eat." And black mamba commented: "Bro was like... what time is it? what year is it? am I going or coming?"

Katherine Naomi added: "He woke up like he has to work a 9-5, it's Monday and he's contemplating life."
