Dave Portnoy Makes Bold Prediction About Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Relationship

Entertainment gossip and news from Newsweek's network of contributors

Dave Portnoy is pretty confident Taylor Swift will be accepting a proposal from Travis Kelce, and he thinks it's going to be soon.

On the May 8 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, Portnoy confidently predicted to host Alex Cooper that Swift and Kelce would get engaged "within a year." He even jokingly suggested they name their future child Aimee after Swift's recent Kim Kardashian diss on The Tortured Poets Department album, which he made sure everyone knew he was a fan of.

As for the couple's future children's names, Portnoy floated the idea that Swift and Kelce, both 34, might honor Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes. "They'll probably name [a son] after Mahomes. That wouldn't shock me." he quipped.

Portnoy, 47, a dedicated Swift fan, hasn't shied away from sharing mixed opinions about their relationship since the rumors began circulating last year. In a September 2023 Instagram video, he admitted Kelce wasn't his "first choice" for the pop star but noted that she was "allowed to have fun."

Kelce hasn't made his proposal intentions public, though he joked about finding a "lab-grown diamond" during a March episode of his New Heights podcast. A source revealed to Page Six that the couple is expected to get engaged this summer, as well as Millionaire Matchmaker Patti Stanger predicting a summertime engagement as well. "I just want them to succeed and get an engagement ring by July," she stated to Entertainment Tonight in April.

Reality star Spencer Pratt also made a bold prediction surrounding the superstar couple and their wedding plans. During the April 23 episode of Juicy Scoop With Heather McDonald, the former Hills star, who also identifies as a committed Swiftie, defended the "Bad Blood" singer and her man. When asked if he thinks the pair will get married, Pratt responded, "100 percent, I think she's gonna have fam—baby—I've gotten into multiple arguments with people who are like, 'This is all for show,' and I'm like, 'No, it's not.'"
