Couple Reveal How Relationship Changed After Ditching Material Things

Hearts have been swooning across the internet after a young couple revealed how their relationship blossomed after they began to ditch materialistic things in favor of prioritizing quality time with each other in nature.

The viral video, which has been viewed more than 379,000 times since it was first shared to TikTok on November 14, captured how 23-year-old Lucy Pettifer and her 28-year-old boyfriend, Liam, prefer to spend their time in the great outdoors exploring sites of natural beauty and connecting with one another, instead of chasing fad items or sitting behind screens.

Pettifer spoke with Newsweek about how the couple's love of investing in special memories and experiences across the U.K and beyond paved the way for the close connection that they enjoy today.

"The video is put together of clips from all the places that we have travelled to last year, this includes the Peak District, Cornwall, Wales and some from our home town in East Sussex. We have been together since March 2023," Pettifer said.

The viral video features a montage of clips of the couple hiking, petting baby animals, and picking flowers together in the sunshine at well-known U.K beauty spots.

The post had been captioned: "[Point of view] you and your boyfriend don't care about materialistic things so all your free time together looks like this".

"My adventure partner," Pettifer wrote under the post.
