Corgi Expecting To Be 'Carried' to Bed Every Night Has Internet in Stitches

A social media video that captures a pampered pooch's love of being carried up to bed in the evenings has warmed hearts across the internet.

The viral video, which has been viewed more than 2.6 million times since it was first shared to Instagram on January 31, showed the corgi being carried up to bed by one of his owners while tucked up firmly into a fluffy donut daybed.

The owners commented on the hilarious transfer process in the post. "This is how my dog likes to be carried upstairs to sleep every single evening," they wrote.

The post was captioned: "A little burrito."

The 9-year-old corgi, who is called Topi, lives in Finland with his owners. To date, the dog has amassed over 238,000 followers on Instagram account @topithecorgi that his owners manage.

The senior dog appears to be a Pembroke Welsh corgi, as opposed to a Cardigan Welsh corgi. The pet registration company, the American Kennel Club (AKC), describes Topi's particular breed as being "alert, affectionate and smart".

"Among the most agreeable of all small housedogs, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi is a strong, athletic, and lively little herder who is affectionate and companionable without being needy," the AKC says on its website.

"They are one the world's most popular herding breeds," the club states.

"The Pembroke is a bright, sensitive dog who enjoys play with his human family and responds well to training. As herders bred to move cattle, they are fearless and independent," the AKC added.
