Chihuahua's Serious 'Beef' With Owner's Boyfriend Has People in Hysterics

A Chihuahua appears to have serious beef with his owner's boyfriend, if footage uploaded to social media is to be believed, much to the amusement of viewers.

Savannah Smith from Texas spends much of her day as a real estate agent negotiating property deals. Right now, however, she might want to consider refocusing her considerable talents on negotiating a peace treaty between her dog Table and her boyfriend.

There certainly appears to be no love lost between the pair, though the animosity is likely one-way. In a video posted to the TikTok under the handle @tablethedog, the fearless Chihuahua can be seen snarling at Smith's beau.

Her boyfriend, for his part, appears happy to trade barbs with his canine rival, albeit all tongue-in-cheek. At one point during the interaction, Table bares his teeth, letting the man know just what he thinks of him, much to Smith and her boyfriend's amusement.

The 10-second video, captioned "the beef between table and my bf," has been watched 7.2 million times. The clip, below, contains profanity.

But while it may be intended in jest, Smith's boyfriend might want to think twice about antagonizing his partner's canine companion.

After all, research has shown how dogs can often be good judges of character.

In 2015, a study published in the journal Animal Behavior saw researchers from Kyoto University conduct an experiment involving 18 dogs.

The canines were tasked with watching their owner ask a stranger for help opening a box. In the first instance, the stranger refused to help their owner. In the second, they did help and in the third, they remained neutral, neither helping nor refusing to.

After that initial phase of the test, the strangers involved in the first interactions approached the dogs with treats. Researchers found that while the dogs happily took treats from the helpful and neutral strangers, they refused food from those who had snubbed their owners.

Not that anyone watching the video seemed overly concerned about what Table's attitude toward Smith's boyfriend might possibly mean.

One viewer was in awe of "the sass in that dog's face." Others, however, seemed more focused on Smith's boyfriend and the brief snippet of "dirty talk" the video provided.

"Whewww that voice," one said, with another joking: "I need a man that talks to me like this." A third added: "Why is this kind of hot?"

Elsewhere, one viewer appeared to be getting misty-eyed about one of their old dogs. "I miss me and my chihuahua bullying each other," they joked.

Meanwhile, it would appear Smith and her partner are not alone in facing this kind of predicament. "My bf got major beef with my chihuahua," another TikTok user admitted.

Newsweek has reached out to Smith for comment.
