Content creation has turned out to be a seriously lucrative business, but with over 5 billion people now signed up to social media platforms, it can be tricky to make your digital footprint known online.
One TikToker has shared the reason why she's no longer taking content creation and 'sticking to an aesthetic' seriously in a jokey post that has been viewed more than 5 million times since it was first shared to TikTok on January 28.
The video captured the woman, who goes by @annascends_ on the platform, swinging around a lamppost for a photo op, before the lamppost comes crashing down beside her presumably from the force at which she was holding it.
A car could be seen slowing down to get a good look at the commotion that was going on in the distance.
"This is why I stopped trying to be aesthetic", the creator shared in the post. Viewers watched as the woman made her case for why aesthetic and aspirational social media content doesn't always go to plan to produce the desired results.
The funny clip played against the trending sound, "This Part Of My Life Is Called Peace", to poke more fun at the failed attempt at content creation.
"I would define aesthetic as something visually pleasing, and this was supposed to be a small clip for an aesthetic recompilation of my summer," the video's creator wrote in the post's comments section.
What Do The Comments Say?
Since it had been shared to the social media platform on January 28 by @annascends_, the TikTok post has been liked by over 851,000 users and commented on more than 4,000 times. Plenty of TikTokers have voiced how relatable they found the creator, or shared their amusement at the photography fail, in the post's comments section.
"Girl replaced the electric with aesthetic," one user wrote.
Another user added: "THE WAY THE CAR SLOWED DOWN".
"HELP I WOULD HAVE DONE THE SAME. I ONCE WANTED TO DO AND ASETHETIC PHOTO BUT THE DAMN LAMP FEL," a third TikToker shared.
A different TikTok user commented: "When this happens the only way to escape is to pretend you where stopping it."
"The way the driver looked at you while driving away," added another user.
