Cat's Reaction to Drive-Thru Shows She Does Remember the 'Chicky Nuggies'

A cat's reaction to seeing the drive-thru has left viewers on social media in stitches.

Thin Mint, a black and white feline, spotted the golden arches of the McDonald's drive-thru when on a car trip with her owner—and she knew exactly where she was.

"I took her to get nuggets one time and she still remembers it," says the text overlay on the video posted by TikToker @the.kitty.gorls. With more than 1.2 million views, everyone loved Thin Mint's reaction.

The caption read: "Chicky nuggies to celebrate being a good girl in the car."

Newsweek reached out to @the.kitty.gorls via TikTok for comment.

While some cats hate the idea of being in a moving vehicle, others—like a calico named Calliope who recently gained viral attention—love a car ride.

Comments on the viral video flooded in as people reacted to Thin Mint's drive-thru obsession. "Get some nuggets right now!" demanded viewer Noah. TikToker Angelix said: "It was a core memory."

Others shared their own stories of pets remembering a special treat. Santos wrote: "My dog found a whole apple pie in a bush once. He checked the magical pie bush every day for years."

Another nugget-loving cat got viral attention earlier this year with his unusual way of demanding chicken nuggets. In the video, the feline is shown making a chewing motion with his mouth while looking toward the camera.

But some viewers had questions, like TikToker Bready who said: "I didn't realize they could eat the nuggets."

In fact, veterinarians don't advise giving cats chicken nuggets. Fried and processed foods like nuggets are filled with fat, salt and other additives that can pose health risks to cats. While a small amount is unlikely to do immediate harm to a pet, it is best to avoid feeding cats chicken nuggets.

Nuggets aren't the only thing that cat owners should avoid feeding their pet. A whole host of foods are harmful and even toxic for cats, from garlic to chocolate.

Experts generally agree that it is OK to feed dogs chicken nuggets occasionally. In 2022, a shelter shared its "Chicken Nugget Day," when it gives its animals a special treat.
