Cat Stealing Teddy Bears From Shop Leaves Viewers Laughing: 'Got 3 already'

A cat stealing teddy bears from a toy shop has been labeled the "true definition of a cat burglar," after a passerby who witnessed the unusual robbery shared the video evidence on social media, leaving the internet in hysterics.

The viral clip, shared on TikTok by Chezcone, shows the cat, which appears to be a calico, walking up to a toy store, grabbing one of the monkey-shaped teddy bears, and then running away as if it knew what it had done, while the shop owner briefly tried to go after it.

Chezcone explained in his video that the cat had just stolen another one from the same shop a few minutes prior, but it turned out that that wasn't its first catch, in fact, it had at least three others, probably taken from the same shop.

According to the Healthy Pet Club, it's quite common for cats to steal, and it isn't a huge problem if it doesn't happen very often.

They say the main reasons behind this, could be lack of entertainment, attention seeking, and hunting instinct, or they may just be hungry if they're stealing food. In most cases playing more with your cat will help fix this problem.

VetStreet says, another possible reason is that the cat doesn't want its owner to see what they're playing with, most likely because the owner has already scolded the cat for using the item, but the cat can't resist it, so it hides.

The video, shared on the platform earlier this month, has so far been viewed over 4.3 million times and liked 852,000 times.

One user, Harriet, commented: "Omg that's actually so cute." And Luana said: "[PLEASE] HE'S GOT 3 ALREADY." Abbey22x wrote: "Real-life cartoon cat."

Another user, Amazigh said: "Poor baby just [wants] toys." Matilda Rose pointed out: "The cat may have had kittens that either passed away or [were] taken, a friend's cat did this with toys." And jo added: "That's a female calico cat! she probably lost kittens..."

Jane commented: "can I adopt this cat[?] I have a list of things I need." And Kiara Cooper said: "The wee things wanting all the huggie wuggies."

Another user, Chinesewhisper5 said: "He wanted a different color one lol. My cats search my cupboards. I swear cats have become so clever they're not like they used to be lol."

Beth commented: "True definition of cat burglar." And Venqzzy1 said: "He's not gonna stop till he finds the right one." Googyflop added: "I have a theory that cats understand the concept of theft." And Bee wrote: "Can I train my cats to do this[?]"
