Cat Gets So Spoiled at Grandma's, Owner Fears She'll Never Want To Go Home

The internet is obsessed with the comfy setup that a cat has got going on at her grandma's house, where she's staying while her owner's abroad.

Chungus the female cat, who lives in a van with her owner, has to spend some time at her grandma's home while her owner goes travelling.

"Honestly, based on her setup I don't know if she's gonna wanna come back into the van," Chungus' owner, Kayli King, said in a social media post that details the cat's short-term move.

The viral video, which has been viewed more than 770,000 times since it was first shared to Instagram on March 6, captured Chungus getting settled into her staycation location at her grandma's home while King goes away.

Viewers have pointed out the cosy pet beds and cushions that the cat's grandma had left out for her in most corners of her home, namely on top of her kitchen cupboards and bookshelves.

King told her 212,000 followers that Chungus and her grandma have developed a sweet relationship due to the amount of effort that had been put into making the house comfortable for the visiting feline.

"It truly took her less than an hour to get comfortable," King, who goes by @kayli.kiing on the platform, said.

Union Lake Veterinary Hospital which provides pet care in Waterford Township, Michigan, says that its possible for cats to become bonded to one person or pick a favorite human.

Union Lake Veterinary Hospital writes online that cats will "in a multi-human household" choose one family member that they "want to spend more of their time with".

"According to a study the person who makes the most effort is the favorite," the veterinary hospital adds.

While the uplifting clip shows the cat adapting happily to her temporary home, her opinion of her grandma's dog is up for debate. The cat was filmed keeping away from her grandma's pet, and King joked that Chungus would need to "get used to her new roommate" for the stay.

What Do the Comments Say?

Since it had been shared to the social media platform on March 6 by @kayli.kiing, the Instagram post has been liked by over 41,000 users.

"The shelf bed, such a good grandma. If I were a cat I'd be stoked on that spot. such a good spot," one user wrote.

Another user added: "Chungus is so lucky to have such a considerate backup human. Hopefully the dog doesn't slobber too much on Chungus."

"Grandma sounds like a good cat mom," a third user shared.
