Airbnb Host Divides Opinion Sharing Common Guest Behavior—'Like, Come On'

An Airbnb host has caused a stir on social media after showing people how they are supposed to leave the bed before departing, in a clip that quickly went viral.

In the post, shared on TikTok earlier in April, under the username @scemjamartice, the poster says: "So I'm cleaning up the Airbnb and I'm pulling this cover off the bed, like, it was really tucked in on the bed.

"Now when I get Airbnbs I strip the bed down, I put the sheets on the floor, but not everybody is like me. Let me show you what everybody else does," the poster adds. She can then be seen walking into the bedroom, toward a neatly done bed left by one of the guests.

"This is what everybody else does. When they leave Airbnb, they make the bed up," she says, adding that these sheets will be changed anyway, so there is no point in doing it. Like, come on. "This is how I do it. I throw all the sheets on the bed so I can make sure it get clean. They making the bed up like finna come in here and lay down behind them. Boy stop."

A survey by Sleep Advisor found that the average person changes their sheets every three weeks, although it can take up to 35 days before they consider it "gross."

Moreover, the study found that people can go an average of 19.4 days going to bed naked without taking a shower before sleeping, and over 31 days without changing their pillowcases, even though they drool fairly often.

The clip quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 3.6 million views and more than 241,000 likes on the platform.

One user, TK, commented: "Y'all just love to complain. When your next guests trash the place don't come on these ppl [people's] app whining." And the poster answered: "This is not complaining this educating."

Kaylee wrote: "When I went to hotels my mom always told me to take the sheets / covers off and put it on the floor- not only to help the housekeepers but also to force them to wash the bedding."

BabebySheila added: "My momma worked in house keeping!! Y'all definitely help by pulling the sheets and covers off the bed lol [laugh out loud]."

Another user, Lexx the mua, posted: "Then get a $200 cleaning fee invoice for sheets being on the floor."

Newsweek tried to contact the original poster for comment via TikTok.
