What Is the Adele One Night Only Special About?

The program will entail performances of her hit tracks and several new songs that have never been heard before, according to a press release announcing the event, Billboard reported Monday.

The special will also feature an exclusive interview with Oprah Winfrey "from her rose garden," the announcement said.

The interview will mark "Adele's first televised wide-ranging conversation about her new album, the stories behind the songs, life after divorce, weight loss and raising her son," the release said, Variety reported on Monday.

Reflecting on the process of making of her forthcoming album, Adele wrote in a post on Twitter on October 13: "I was certainly nowhere near where I'd hoped to be when I first started it nearly 3 years ago.

"I've learned a lot of blistering home truths about myself along the way. I've shed many layers but also wrapped myself in new ones too."

The artist wrote she "never felt more peaceful" in her life and is "ready to finally put this album out."

The upcoming special follows her recent interview with Vogue. The singer graced the cover of the fashion magazine's November issue.

Marking her first interview in five years, the artist opened up to Vogue about what she had been up to over lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic and in preparation for the new album.

Adele's First Single in 6 Years Makes Waves

The track "Easy on Me," the first single from Adele's forthcoming album, debuted on October 14.

The song, which marked the first new music release from the songstress in six years, sold 15,000 digital downloads in the first five hours of its availability in the U.S.

On October 15, the first full day of tracking, the song was played 4,160 times, generating 21 million in audience numbers (fueled in part by hourly spins), bagging the No. 1 slot as the most-played and most-heard song on radio that day, according to Billboard.
